About PearlHelix
Thoughtful advice. Grounded in practice.
PearlHelix Systems and Advisory is an independent, Bangladesh-registered consultancy, founded and run by Ahsan Habib, a university educator and senior full-stack developer. It brings together experience in education, learning technology, software and research. The work starts with people: what they need to learn, how their organisation operates and which tools would make a practical difference.
Who we work with
- Schools
- See what learners already understand, use feedback to focus practice and check how they progress.
- Training centres
- Bring course goals, skills and progress into one useful record, so the next learning step is clear.
- Businesses
- Connect everyday tools, simplify reporting and try new ways of working on a manageable scale.
Working principles
- People decide
- Technology should leave people more capable. Teachers, trainers and managers keep responsibility for decisions.
- Understanding before answers
- A correct answer without the reasoning is borrowed. Advice and tools should leave you able to explain the choice yourself.
- Small, tested steps
- Agree a scope, deliver a working first step and review it with the people who use it.
- Only the data a project needs
- Collected with consent, kept with clear access rules, and used for nothing else.
Why the name
- Pearl
- A problem patiently layered over until it becomes something of value.
- Helix
- It turns and rises, returning to the same point, a little higher each time.
Who you will work with
One person, start to finish.
I trained as an engineer, teach computing at university level and have spent more than eight years building learning and assessment software. My doctoral research asks when a machine-learning result deserves trust.
PearlHelix brings those three strands to practical problems of learning and work. When you write, I am the one who replies, and the one who does the work.
The business
PearlHelix Systems and Advisory is a sole proprietorship registered in Bangladesh. Enquiries are welcome from anywhere.
